The Akron Urban League is proud to invite you to our Juneteenth Community Celebration on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at our headquarters at 440 Vernon Odom Blvd, Akron, OH 44307.
This year’s theme, “Stronger Together,” speaks to the unity and resilience of our community. We are honored to partner with The Freedom BLOC, Akron NAACP, and proudly feature our Centennial Celebration as part of this powerful day of remembrance and joy.
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, marks the emancipation of the last enslaved African Americans in 1865. It’s more than a historical milestone—it’s a moment to reflect on our shared past, celebrate progress, and continue the work toward justice and equality.
Our celebration will feature:

- Family-friendly activities
- Health and wellness resources
- Community engagement opportunities
